Belper Goes Green 2023 Announcement

Belper Goes Green 2023 Announcement

It is with a heavy heart and deep regret that Transition Belper is announcing that we will not be holding Belper Goes Green in 2023.

The festival has become a much-anticipated event each year and we understand that this news may be disappointing for many in the community, as indeed it is for Transition Belper.

We assure you that we did not take this decision lightly, and we are committed to continuing our mission of promoting sustainable living and protecting the environment. The Transition Belper team have spent the last few months exploring numerous options, but sadly none of the alternatives were suitable for the event.

The good news is that we are fully committed to hosting an even more sustainable event in 2024 and will be looking at how we can do this in the near future. A kick-off meeting will be announced shortly and we need people to get involved and make it an even greener event than before.

The success of last year’s event was down to the exceptional hard work and energy of a team of volunteers, who both planned the event behind the scenes and helped out over the weekend. We are reliant on a core team of volunteers to make it happen, so if you would like to be part of the Belper Goes Green team for 2024 then please get in touch by emailing bgg@transitionbelper.org.

For 2023 we look forward to continuing to work with the community through our monthly Repair Cafes and Green Exchange where a short talk is held each month. We will also be bringing back an Eco-Market to Belper on September 10th 2023.

Please continue to follow us on our social media channels as we announce plans for future events.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.
