Peaks and Dales Line – Public Presentation
On 8 April, 18:00 – 19:30, at Strutts Centre, the Manchester and East Midlands Rail Action Partnership (MEMRAP) will be presenting its proposals for reopening the rail link between Manchester and Derby via Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock.  This would enable the return of a regular, direct rail service between Belper and Manchester, with stops at Peak District stations in between, for the first time since closure of the Matlock to Buxton section in 1968.  NB, as of 30th March this event is now booked out.  There are more details about MEMRAP and their plans here: MEMRAP

Active Travel Masterplan (ATM) for Belper
The aim of the ATM is to set out the basis on which a significant increase in walking, wheeling, and cycling could be facilitated within Belper through ambitious infrastructure investment, supported by a programme of travel behaviour change.

A draft ATM has been produced to support a consultation which will be open to everyone via the Derbyshire County Council website.  The consultation is expected to open this month (April).  You will then be able to read the draft ATM and comment on it by visiting the consultations page of the DCC website (link below).  It will be easy to find because consultations are listed with most recently opened at the top.
