Belper Goes Green: Volunteers Needed

Belper Goes Green: Volunteers Needed

Belper Goes Green is just a few months away!  And we are super excited about the Festival happening again this year.

The next BGG planning meeting will be held at the Queens Head, Chesterfield Road in the upstairs room on Tuesday 19th March at 7pm.  Come along to meet the team and find out more! If you can’t make it but would like to join by Zoom then get in touch via info@transitionbelper.org and we’ll make it happen.

BGG Needs You!  The whole event is run by volunteers….can you help with any of the following?

  • Artistic design (programmes, flyers, ticket design updates) then please get in touch with us.
  • Logistics – A lot of the equipment we use is borrowed from local community groups.  We’ll be moving this onto the site and setting up from Wednesday 5th June – Friday 7th and then moving it all back after the event on Monday 10th June.  We need strong people that can give a few hours to help move stuff!  Or drive a hired Luton van.
  • Talks for the event – Do you have an hour or two to spare each month?  Are you passionate about educating people about climate change and what we can do to help?  We are looking for someone to be the first contact for organized talks at the event.

Please email us at info@transitionbelper.org and we’ll get back to you for a chat!

Event Volunteers and Stewards:
Volunteering is now open for the Belper Goes Green 2024 Weekend.

Can you spare a few hours over the weekend or in the days before and after?  The event is run entirely by volunteers, from the team that does the planning, to every person at the event; meeting you at the gate, to the performers on stage.  Volunteer stewards, besides getting a warm fuzzy feeling, will be fed and watered during the event and will be invited to the BGG afterparty.  You can sign up here: Volunteering – Transition Belper

BGG2024: Beating the Bounds
And, you might like to join our procession (beating the bounds) on the theme of the four elements at BGG .  Dress up in your earth / wind / fire / water themed outfits for BGG – email us at info@transitionbelper if you want to take part.

Stall Bookings
Stall applications have been open for a month, but we still have some places.  We are keen to ensure the community is well represented so if you’d like to be part of the event you can apply here:  Stall Booking – Transition Belper
