We are delighted to announce that the Financial Conduct Authority has confirmed the registration of Belper Community Energy (BCE) as a Community Benefit Society (CBS).  Many thanks to BCE member Richard Cooper for steering us through the process.  This milestone comes almost a year after the initial meeting to explore opportunities to launch a community energy company.

Other developments include working on a BCE website to illuminate our activities, building a portfolio of potential sites for rooftop solar, and developing our relationship with the Big Solar Co-op, enabling us to assess these sites effectively and perform preliminary designs. We are thrilled to be in communication with Gary Spendlove (as shown in the above picture with Aidan Sutcliffe), Managing Director at Slenderella, the family-run textile company in Belper, regarding rooftop solar for their business premises.

Many thanks to Transition Belper for contributing to start-up funds and providing an interim home whilst BCE undertakes the CBS registration process.
