Local Cycling And Walking Infrastructure Plan: Consultation

Local Cycling And Walking Infrastructure Plan: Consultation

The four local authorities of Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire have worked together to prepare a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) for the D2N2 area, based on Government Guidance published in April 2017.  This plan is now open for consultation.

If your particular interest is cycling, the Derby Cycling Group have produced a document outlining a high level response to the plan.  They encourage cyclists to support the recommendations of the plan and to submit their own feedback.  Respondents can include as much or as little extra information as they wish.  The Derby Cycling Group will be making a group response in due course, which they will publish on their webpages.

Supporters of the Derwent Valley Cycleway have also noted that “in ongoing discussions with Derbyshire County Council they (DCC) stress how important it is for the future cycle network that there is clear public support”.  The Derwent Valley cycleway is in the plan and it is therefore essential that support is evident.

The plan and the consultation process can be accessed here: D2N2 Local Cycling and Walking Plan.  The consultation is open till the 8th of March 2023.

If you have any comments to make about cycling or walking in Derbyshire, now is the time to make your voice heard.
