The following are notable results from the Local Elections which took place in May:
- The Belper Neighbourhood Plan was adopted. The referendum in Belper had a turnout of 43% of which 88% voted Yes. This document now becomes part of the planning process for development in Belper. The document is available here: Belper Neighbourhood Plan.
- Amber Valley Borough Council is now controlled by the Conservative Party (Labour losing control of the council).
- Derbyshire County Council remains under the control of the Conservative Party.
- Duffield and Belper South elected a Green Party councillor to Derbyshire County Council.
- Belper South elected a Green Party Councillor to the Town Council.
- Belper Town Council remains under the control of the Labour Party.
