Get Involved

You are here: Home / Get Involved

If you are interested in building a stronger community and creating a more sustainable way of life, then why not get involved with Transition Belper! As a community group we are made up of volunteers, so even a small contribution towards what we do can go a long way.

Anyone can be involved, regardless of your interests, skills or experience. Below are just some of our ideas to get you started.

Sign Up For Our newsletter

To keep in touch with all we do, as well as hear about other local projects and events relating to our ethos, sign up to our newsletter here.

Green Exchange and Repair Café

Each month we hold a café at No.28, Market Place, with talented fixers on hand to repair items such as electrical goods, toys and clothes, and a variety of swap events throughout the year, from garden produce to children’s shoes. Whether you want to help, or if you’ve got an idea for a swap theme you’d like to arrange, then please get in touch – We couldn’t run these events without all of our fantastic volunteers.

Join One Of Our Active Groups

Whether you’re passionate about saving energy, conserving green spaces, permaculture, reducing waste or community connection – we have a group for you! Visit our ‘What we do’ page for further info and contacts.

Apply For Support With A Project Or Event

If you’ve got an idea for an activity – a community group, a school project, some training, a film showing, quiz, talk or debate – we’d love to hear from you. Drop us an email and we’ll send you a Project Proposal form. We’re able to offer small amounts of funding along with legal and practical support.

Green Drinks

Once a month we hold a social evening in a local pub – all are welcome! Please see the Events page for this month‘s date and venue.

Belper Goes Green Festival

There are lots of volunteering opportunities from organising to stewarding to performing at the festival and lots more besides! Please see our festival Volunteering page for details.
