Community Conversation

What if…’being green’ was easy and affordable for everyone? What if…I knew that changes were really making a difference? What if… any idea was possible and our imagination had no limits?

Transition Belper know that by creating a collective vision of the future, we can tackle the issues we face together and be ambitious about our solutions!

Let’s create a sustainable vision for 2030, together.

Our area has a proud heritage of being innovative and resourceful and we thrive on our creative groups and events. But living through the pandemic has been extremely tough and on top of this we are faced with the very real effects of climate change.

The event – Saturday 2nd October 2021

Time TBC – approx 9.30am to 3.30pm
Location: Strutts community centre

Using a tried and tested process we’ll look at:

  • Where we are now
  • What we’d like to see in 2030
  • How we’d like to get there

Who’s invited?

Everyone! Individuals/residents, businesses, community organisations and groups. You’ll need to register to attend – details to be confirmed.

I want to join in but can’t attend this event.

If you’re unable to attend the event you’ll be able to share your ideas with us in a variety of ways – look out for our ‘idea trees’ in various locations around Belper where you can write your idea and attach it to the tree – Morrison’s, the Coop, the library and more to be confirmed. We also have details of an exciting sewing and craft project linked to this event to be announced soon so watch this space.
